Hear! Hear! An Audible Experience of the Written Word at Weymouth Center for the Arts & Humanities on Friday, October 18th | 4pm-6pm. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to meet a NC author and an Audible Narrator. Participate in a table read for Mary Flynn’s next novel! Hosted by Mary Flinn, author, and Susan Russell, actor and Audible narrator.

Part One: (About one hour) Audience: Writers-in-residence and invited professional authors. Activity: Audible narrator Susan Russell will read excerpts from Mary Flinn’s Allegiance, set in Southern Pines. She will also demonstrate the impact of a professional voice by reading from other authors’ works. A conversation will follow about audiobook platforms and current writing projects. Break – Book sales and signing for all participants

Part Two: (About one hour) Audience: Creative writing students, writers’ groups, and interested individuals. Activity: Volunteer writers will participate in a table read of Mary Flinn’s screenplay, LUMINA, directed by Susan Russell. A discussion will follow about how voice enhances both manuscripts and screenplays.
