“An Evening with Oscar and Steve” SRT’s Michael Pizzi Makes NYC Cabaret Debut

November 24 @ 9:30 pm

The Green Room 42 presents “An Evening with Oscar and Steve,” the Music and Lyrics of Oscar Hammerstein & Stephen Sondheim. This is an in-person event that is also available to livestream. Sandhills Repertory Theatre’s Michael Pizzi is making his NYC Cabaret debut on Sunday, November 24th at 9:30pm.

“When Stephen Sondheim was a teenager, Oscar Hammerstein, who was a neighbor, became his musical mentor and surrogate father. It was from that piece of musical theater history that this show was created. “An evening with Oscar and Steve” includes many of their most famous and familiar songs, including a lovely mashup of songs that are not fully performed but which would be familiar to audiences worldwide. This show includes patter allowing an audience into the worlds of Oscar and Steve, with narrative that will bring their songs to life and offer a unique perspective on how their songs were created. The musicals included in the show include “Merrily We Roll Along”, “Showboat”, “Into the Woods”, “Follies”, “South Pacifific”, “Oklahoma”, “Passion”, “Carousel”, “The Sound of Music” and many more. Featuring Broadway’s Gay Willis and actor/singer/producer Michael Pizzi, with Special Guests Chad Marge and Olivia Berkson.”
