Join the annual Sandhills Blast & Cast Turkey Shoot! The season kicks off on Saturday, September 14th, at 7:00pm, located at 501 Thurlows Lake Rd. in Carthage. Test your shotgun skills in this classic Southern event. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a first-timer, expect plenty of fun and camaraderie—and no, turkeys aren’t actually shot! Participants will compete for prizes like hams, sausage, bacon, steaks, ribs, chicken, and pork chops, with frozen turkeys awarded the week before Thanksgiving. Shooters fire from 35 yards, using either their own shotgun or one provided. The closest shot to the center wins! Open to all ages, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Sign-ups are done on-site, and prices vary per round. This family-friendly event enforces a no profanity and no alcohol policy.
