Join as The Carolina Philharmonic presents the “Ripples of Spring” concert. Journey from the serene meadows of Copland’s Appalachian Spring to majestic skies of Sibelius’s Finlandia, culminating in the lyrical depths of Saint-Saens Cello Concerto No 1, featuring the artistry of an exceptional soloist. Suuví, the featured cellist, has been playing since childhood, her Cuban-Chinese roots shaping her artistry in unexpected ways. The Carolina Philharmonic’s maestro, David Michael Wolff, will guide the orchestra through a program that blends Copland’s Appalachian Spring with contemporary innovation. From the lyrical depths of Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1 to the soaring grandeur of Sibelius’ Finlandia, it promises to be an unforgettable performance. The performance take place on Saturday, May 3rd at 7:30pm in Owens Auditorium of Bradshaw Performing Arts Center on the campus of Sandhills Community College.
