NCDOT Public Hearing: “Improve the Pinehurst Traffic Circle, Don’t Destroy It”

July 18 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

FREE

The NC Department of Transportation is proposing changes that will alter the iconic Pinehurst Traffic Circle to handle increased traffic. The plan will remove six acres of longleaf pine trees, our State Tree, in the Circle and nearby areas, impacting several properties through eminent domain. The new intersection will include 15/501 North and South, NC 211, and Midland Road East toward Southern Pines. Midland Road West toward Pinehurst will no longer be accessible from the Circle but will be reachable from NC 211 via a new connector road intersecting Midland near Dalrymple Road, opposite the back entrance to #7. The community is invited to let their voice heard at the scheduled public hearings.
