The community is invited to the fourth annual Pinehurst Barbecue Festival with Tarheel Festivals, LLC! The festival takes place over Labor Day Weekend in the Village of Pinehurst. Presented by US Foods, Carolina Co-Packing, Our State Magazine and Pinehurst Resort, this three-day festival, headlined by Prieto, offers a unique culinary experience of various barbecue meats, seafood and traditional sides. Award-winning Pitmasters from across North Carolina come together to offer a “Celebration of Taste and Tradition.”

Friday, August 30th
High On The Hog Gourmet Pitmaster Dinner takes place at the Pinehurst Fair Barn | 6:30pm-8:30pm. This special dinner kicks off the weekend events. It is hosted by Pitmaster, Adam Hughes from Old Colony Smokehouse in Edenton, NC. Attendees will be treated to a platter full of Adam’s best Barbecue dishes and desserts. The evening includes live entertainment, wine and whiskey samples and barbecue themed vendors. A cash bar will be available. To view the full menu, follow the event link provided below.

Saturday, August 31st
”Q”-School Grilling Class takes place at Pinehurst Brewing Company | 11:00am-1:00pm. Experience cooking and grilling demonstrations with a range of meats on a variety of grills. This class is led by Christopher Prieto of Prime Barbecue in Knightdale and another Pitmaster TBD. Learn and eat at the same time. There will also be exclusive beer sampling opportunities provided by Pinehurst Brewing Co. Please note that there are no children under 12 years of age permitted at this event. Children 12-17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Bourbon & Bites takes place at the North & South Bar in The Manor | 5:00pm-7:00pm. Indulge in this intimate evening of whiskey and bourbon sampling, expertly paired with small plates from the Pinehurst Resort culinary team. You will sample five varieties of bourbon. One cigar will be provided, compliments of Specialty Cigars. (Sold Out)

Barbecue Reimagined is the newest event in the Pinehurst Barbecue Festival line-up taking place at Sandhills Community College in the Dempsey Student Center | 6pm-8pm. Barbecue “Reimagined” is a gourmet tasting event featuring Got To Be NC Ambassador Chefs, Pastry Chefs and Mixologists from across the state who will prepare nontraditional and international barbecue dishes and signature cocktails.

Sunday, September 1st
Christopher Prieto Pitmaster Invitational takes place in the Village of Pinehurst | 12pm-5:00pm. Early Admission is at 10:00am, and a ticket is required. Regular Admission is at 11:00am. Join for this premier event of the Pinehurst Barbecue Festival featuring North Carolina’s finest barbecue Pitmasters. Enjoy fresh cooked barbecue samples. Each ticket includes samples and sides from each Pitmaster. Tickets also include samples of Craft Beer, sauce and spice vendors from across the state, Got To Be NC Vendors, and live entertainment.
