Sanford Brush Palette Club: 59th Annual Art Show
October 16 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
FREECelebrating 60 Years of Artistic Excellence: The Sanford Brush & Palette Club is planning its 59th Annual Art Show for this October 12th-October 19th! The largest fundraiser for the Sanford Brush & Palette Club each year is the Annual Art Show. This year, SBPC is planning its largest art show ever. Along with celebrating its 60th anniversary, the club will also celebrate Sanford’s 150th anniversary with a new art category titled “What Sanford Means to Me”. Attendees can explore hundreds of pieces of new, original art, meet local artists and see art demonstrations. There will be door prizes, raffles and unique, artist-created fall and winter holiday gifts available in the Holiday Gallery. A special Art After Dark event will take place on Friday, October 18th.
The Bowl & Vessel Show, a showcase of member potters, will be included again this year concurrently with the traditional Art Show. These unique, artistic and beautifully created pottery items are a wonderful addition to the show. North Carolina’s pottery tradition is celebrated by scholars and collectors alike, and a significant amount of remarkable pottery has traditionally been created in Sanford.
This year’s show, always well attended and presented as a family event, will be held at the beautiful and spacious Harper Center at First Presbyterian Church on Hawkins Avenue, offering 2,000 square feet of art. This project is supported by a grant from the Lee County Arts Council through the Grassroots Arts Program of the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
