The son of legendary singer-songwriter John Prine, Tommy first learned guitar by watching his father, carefully studying his technique. Along the way, he naturally developed a style that is uniquely his own. Blending a wide range of musical influences—from Gillian Welch and Outkast to Bon Iver and The Strokes—Prine’s sound is as dynamic as his songwriting. His lyrics explore existential questions and raw emotions, creating deeply personal and resonant music. Currently on tour in support of his highly anticipated album This Far South, Prine showcases a collection of songs co-produced by his close friend and fellow artist Ruston Kelly, along with renowned Nashville producer Gena Johnson. The album moves seamlessly from cathartic, high-energy tracks to nostalgic, heartfelt storytelling, making for a rich and immersive musical experience.
