Come out as Town Creek Indian Mound NC Historic Site hosts Town Creek Under the Stars! Celebrate the last night of summer and the beginning of our Autumn astronomy season beneath one of the last great dark sky sites in central NC! The evening begins with the “What’s Up!” presentation at 6:30pm, an auditorium program providing information about what to look for that night and a little of the folklore associated with it. Then, take in the darkening view at the village as the Milky Way stretches high overhead, from horizon to horizon. Bring your telescope or binoculars to observe gas giant Saturn or catch an amazing glimpse through one of the Site telescopes. Dress for the weather and may wish to bring a red light to help them see in the darkness. Remember to bring a lawn chair or blanket for your own comfort. The cost is $4.
