DESCRIPTION:Kids love to make art\, and our campers are sure to love every minute of our week-long Mixed Media Art Camps at ARTworks Vass! \nParents love how much we love their children\, the manner in which we accommodate special requests\, and that so many of the projects that we’ll make are of such a quality that they will be treasured for years or even a lifetime. \nMixed Media Creative Kids Art Camp\, from July 27th through July 31st\, will focus on Fused Glass\, Hand Built Pottery\, Fiber Art\, Two Dimensional Art and Ceramics. \nWhile you’ll notice that our Mixed Media Art Camps are offered several times this summer\, each will provide a unique experience with a variety of projects in each of these mediums. We always have a few surprises up our sleeves to keep things interesting too! \nYour Children will have more fun than you can possibly imagine as they build confidence\, develop skills\, and enjoy the camraderie of their new friends in our creative classes. \nWe enter each camp week with a well-planned curriculum that includes a ton of variety for your Children. DESCRIPTION:Create a beautiful handmade pottery canister that’s as functional as it is artistic! Join Beth Roy on Wednesday\, July 29th from 5:30 to 8:30 for this beginner-friendly hand building pottery class. You will design and construct a lidded canister similar in style to the sample shown\, featuring textured surfaces\, carved designs\, and a custom-fitted lid.\n\nUsing slab-building techniques\, you’ll learn how to form a cylindrical vessel\, create a matching lid\, and add decorative elements through carving\, stamping\, and texturing. Whether you prefer elegant swirls\, geometric patterns\, florals\, nature-inspired motifs\, or something completely unique\, you’ll have plenty of creative freedom to make your piece your own.\n\nOnce completed\, you’ll select a glaze color from our available options. The glaze will highlight the texture and carving details\, creating a beautiful finished piece that is perfect for storing coffee\, tea\, cookies\, pet treats\, cotton balls\, or other treasures.\n\nNo pottery experience is necessary.\n\nAfter class\, Beth will carefully dry\, kiln fire\, glaze\, and kiln fire your work again. Finished items will be ready for pickup about 4 weeks after class\, depending on drying time and humidity. DESCRIPTION:The Arts Council of Moore County (ACMC) created the Fine Arts Festival in 1980 to provide incentive for local artists to improve their technique and a place to showcase and sell their artwork. The festival has since grown into a major exhibit featuring artwork by artists from all over the country. DESCRIPTION:Create a beautiful handmade pottery canister that’s as functional as it is artistic! Join Beth Roy on Saturday\, Aug. 1st from 3:00 to 6:00 for this beginner-friendly hand building pottery class. You will design and construct a lidded canister similar in style to the sample shown\, featuring textured surfaces and a custom fitted lid that includes a bird carved into it!\n\nUsing slab-building techniques\, you’ll learn how to form a cylindrical vessel\, create a matching lid\, and add decorative elements through carving\, stamping\, and texturing. Whether you prefer elegant swirls\, geometric patterns\, florals\, nature-inspired motifs\, or something completely unique\, you’ll have plenty of creative freedom to make your piece your own.\n\nOnce completed\, you’ll select a glaze color from our available options. The glaze will highlight the texture and carving details\, creating a beautiful finished piece that is perfect for storing coffee\, tea\, cookies\, pet treats\, cotton balls\, or other treasures.\n\nNo pottery experience is necessary.\n\nAfter class\, Beth will carefully dry\, kiln fire\, glaze\, and kiln fire your work again. Finished items will be ready for pickup about 4 weeks after class\, depending on drying time and humidity.
