Join our talented glassblower Wayne Manning on Thursday\, June 25th at 6:00 pm and create your own one-of-a-kind hand-blown tumbler. \n\n\n\nYou’ll select from a variety of colorful glass chips and frit to create a playful confetti-style pattern that is uniquely yours. Then\, with Wayne’s guidance\, you’ll help shape molten glass into a functional tumbler perfect for water\, juice\, cocktails\, or displaying on a shelf as a work of art. \n\n\n\nWhat to Expect: \n\n\n\nWayne will guide you step-by-step through the glass blowing process as glassblowing is very much a choreographed collaboration. By the end of your session\, you’ll be amazed by what you’ve created! \n\n\n\nThis class is designed for beginners and offers a fun introduction to the fascinating world of hot glass. It also makes a great couples activity\, friends’ outing\, or unique gift experience. \n\n\n\nDue to the handmade nature of glass\, slight variations in size\, shape\, and color placement make each piece uniquely yours. \n\n\n\nYour glass project will need to cool slowly (anneal). Up and coming artists and their work are presented to a regional audience in a professional setting. \nWhat is an Emerging Artist? An Emerging Artist is one who is early in their art career\, has limited experience exhibiting\, and seeks to further their creative work. Emerging Artists generally do not have an established resume of exhibitions\, but may have participated in group shows\, fairs and art competitions\, or art auctions. Candidates may not be professionally employed as a working artist. Please refer to the Prospectus for eligibility criteria. \nHow does our Gallery work? The Gallery collects applications from North Carolina artists who meet the entry criteria. Accepted artists are curated in for a two-month exhibition including an artist reception\, opportunity for an artist talk\, and promotional benefits through press releases and print/digital marketing. There is no cost to the artist to apply for this opportunity. \nArtwork is available for purchase with proceeds benefiting the artist and the MANN Center for the Arts. Each piece is truly one-of-a-kind\, and the experience will be just as unforgettable. More than a keepsake—you’ll be making memories to treasure for a lifetime. \nWhat to Expect: \nWayne will guide you step-by-step through the glass blowing process and together you will create your one of a kind glass piece. Glassblowing is a choreographed collaboration. This will be an enjoyable beginner friendly experience and by the end of your session\, you’ll be amazed by what you’ve created! \nYour glass project will need to cool slowly (anneal). Pick it up a few days after class or arrange shipping for an additional fee. \nImportant Information: \n\nNo experience needed—beginners welcome!\nPlease note: ARTworks Vass is home to friendly gallery/studio cats who may be present during classes and events. 🐾\nAges 14+ are invited to participate. Up and coming artists and their work are presented to a regional audience in a professional setting. \nWhat is an Emerging Artist? An Emerging Artist is one who is early in their art career\, has limited experience exhibiting\, and seeks to further their creative work. Emerging Artists generally do not have an established resume of exhibitions\, but may have participated in group shows\, fairs and art competitions\, or art auctions. Candidates may not be professionally employed as a working artist. Please refer to the Prospectus for eligibility criteria. \nHow does our Gallery work? The Gallery collects applications from North Carolina artists who meet the entry criteria. Accepted artists are curated in for a two-month exhibition including an artist reception\, opportunity for an artist talk\, and promotional benefits through press releases and print/digital marketing. There is no cost to the artist to apply for this opportunity. \nArtwork is available for purchase with proceeds benefiting the artist and the MANN Center for the Arts. DESCRIPTION:This week-long camp (full day or half day available) will provide your children the many fun learning opportunities that combine robotics\, character development\, story telling\, and miniature painting\, as led by the mother-son dynamic duo of Tina and Dillan Fox\, \nThis Creative Kids Art and Technology Camp will be held from June 29th through July 3rd\, and every day of camp will hold an new adventure for your children. \nYour Children will have more fun than you can possibly imagine as they build confidence\, develop skills in multiple disciplines\, and enjoy the camaraderie of their new friends in our creative classes. \nWe enter each camp week with a well-planned curriculum that includes a ton of variety for your Children. We also allow room for flexibility to adjust our camp schedule and our camp projects based on the needs and preferences of the registered guests in attendance. \nOur Planned Schedule for Mornings During Camp Includes The Following: \n\nTIna Fox\, who teaches high school in Apex\, North Carolina will lead these sessions.\nOn Monday\, Campers can expect to discuss the characteristics that make up an interesting and engaging charachter\, both verbally and in writing\, as they learn about the materials and resources that will be available to them throughout the week.\nOn Tuesday\, They’ll dive into creating their very own One-of-a-Kind Robot – “The Money Bank Robot” is hungry for money! Upon completion\, each child will be able to place a coin on their robot’s tray\, and watch as their robot swallows the coin into its mouth! The Money Bank Robot\, the perfect blend of creativity and education\, and will introduce campers to the fascinating world of robotics. The hot summer months of July and August are the perfect time to gather at ARTworks Vass for a hands-on\, creative wet felting experience. Join us for this special two-part wet felting series designed to introduce you to the relaxing and magical process of transforming soft wool into beautiful sculptural creations. \nThis registration includes BOTH classes in the series\, as well as your own personalized wet felting kit to keep! Your kit will include the essential tools needed for wet felting so you can continue creating projects long after class ends. \nWe’ll begin on Wednesday\, July 1st from 4:00 to 7:00 by creating three beautiful stemmed wet felted flowers while learning the foundational skills of wet felting. This beginner-friendly class is the perfect introduction to layering\, shaping\, and forming wool fibers. During this class\, we’ll also discuss the different types of handles and finishing options available for your August project so your chosen handles can be ready for you at the second session. \nThen\, on Wednesday\, August 5th from 4 PM to 7 PM\, we’ll build on those skills as we create larger wet felted balloon vessels. You will have several options for your final project including creating a felted bag\, flower pot cover\, or decorative vessel. \nWet felting is VERY different from needle felting\, so come prepared to get wet and soapy!
