DESCRIPTION:PWR! is an exercise program that promotes aerobic and specific skills that can protect vulnerable neurons\, repair damaged circuits\, and optimize function in individuals with Parkinson’s disease. \nWHAT YOU NEED: Physicians Parkinson’s Diagnosis/Doctor’s Medical Authorization AND New Member Orientation/Screening/Assessment \nPWR! Circuit Wednesdays 1pm: Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery class that utilizes exercise stations to promote large amplitude\, high effort and attention to action using an array of exercise equipment. These exercises increase motor control and repetitive effort within time restraints at each exercise station. \nPWR! Group Fridays 1pm: Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery class that focus on movements that promote large amplitude\, high effort and attention to action from multiple positions (prone\, supine\, all 4’s and standing).\nThese exercises help to increase motor control with sustained and repetitive effort while also promoting better balance. \nOnce the above items are complete\, class assignment will be based on assessments and screenings. \nClass is limited to 10\, so please complete the above items in advance to ensure your spot in the classes. Circuit Wednesdays 1pm: Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery class that utilizes exercise stations to promote large amplitude\, high effort and attention to action using an array of exercise equipment. These exercises increase motor control and repetitive effort within time restraints at each exercise station. \nPWR! Group Fridays 1pm: Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery class that focus on movements that promote large amplitude\, high effort and attention to action from multiple positions (prone\, supine\, all 4’s and standing).\nThese exercises help to increase motor control with sustained and repetitive effort while also promoting better balance. \nOnce the above items are complete\, class assignment will be based on assessments and screenings. \nClass is limited to 10\, so please complete the above items in advance to ensure your spot in the classes. Funds raised go toward direct care recipient requests\, companion pets\, personalized music players\, and local community education efforts. \n\n\n\nFor a tax-deductible donation of $30\, participants can dedicate a beautiful purple mum in honor or in memory of a loved one\, caregiver\, local care facility\, or family member. Donors also have the option to sponsor the delivery of their mum directly to local care facilities to brighten the days of seniors living with memory impairment. \n\n\n\nThe deadline to place an order for inclusion in printed event materials is Monday\, September 28th. Dedicated flowers will be available for pickup during a special drive-through event on Thursday\, October 8th\, from 3:30PM-5:30PM at the Aging Outreach Services office\, located at 676 NW Broad Street in Southern Pines. DESCRIPTION:Be a Friend to Someone with Dementia 2026 AOS & Friends Care is hosting its 11th Annual Mums for Memory™ Fundraiser to support vital programs and services for individuals and families affected by dementia in Moore County and surrounding communities. Funds raised go toward direct care recipient requests\, companion pets\, personalized music players\, and local community education efforts. \n\n\n\nFor a tax-deductible donation of $30\, participants can dedicate a beautiful purple mum in honor or in memory of a loved one\, caregiver\, local care facility\, or family member. Donors also have the option to sponsor the delivery of their mum directly to local care facilities to brighten the days of seniors living with memory impairment. \n\n\n\nThe deadline to place an order for inclusion in printed event materials is Monday\, September 28th. Dedicated flowers will be available for pickup during a special drive-through event on Thursday\, October 8th\, from 3:30PM-5:30PM at the Aging Outreach Services office\, located at 676 NW Broad Street in Southern Pines. DESCRIPTION:PWR! is an exercise program that promotes aerobic and specific skills that can protect vulnerable neurons\, repair damaged circuits\, and optimize function in individuals with Parkinson’s disease. \nWHAT YOU NEED: Physicians Parkinson’s Diagnosis/Doctor’s Medical Authorization AND New Member Orientation/Screening/Assessment \nPWR! Circuit Wednesdays 1pm: Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery class that utilizes exercise stations to promote large amplitude\, high effort and attention to action using an array of exercise equipment. These exercises increase motor control and repetitive effort within time restraints at each exercise station. \nPWR! Group Fridays 1pm: Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery class that focus on movements that promote large amplitude\, high effort and attention to action from multiple positions (prone\, supine\, all 4’s and standing).\nThese exercises help to increase motor control with sustained and repetitive effort while also promoting better balance. \nOnce the above items are complete\, class assignment will be based on assessments and screenings. \nClass is limited to 10\, so please complete the above items in advance to ensure your spot in the classes.
