SUMMARY:Shimmer & Share: A "Rainbow Fish" Adventure! with Kathy Downs at ARTworks Vass
DESCRIPTION:Dive into a colorful underwater adventure inspired by the beloved book The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister! During this special kids class on Saturday\, June 13th from 9:30 to 11:00\, we’ll read and discuss the heartwarming story of a shiny little fish who learns that kindness and sharing are far more important than being the most beautiful fish in the sea.\nAfter story time\, each child will create and paint their very own fish using a fun selection of colors and creative designs. Will your fish sparkle like the Rainbow Fish or become a one-of-a-kind ocean creation? The choice is yours!\nThis class encourages creativity\, imagination\, and meaningful conversation about friendship\, kindness\, and sharing.\nNo experience needed—just bring your imagination and get ready for some fishy fun! \nNote: After class\, Kathy will kiln-fire each piece. Finished projects will be ready for pickup in approximately two weeks. Kathy will text you when your child’s pieces are ready to pick up. Kathy Downs discovered her passion for glass art in 2011 when she and her family moved to the Quantico\, VA area. Initially her small glass pieces were unique gifts for family and friends but as her collection and skills grew\, she started selling her glass to fund her “glass” habit! She now creates both large and small fused glass in her home-based studio and with 38 years of eduction experience\, she is excited to teach and mentor aspiring glass artists through her fused glass classes at ARTworks Vass! \nImportant Information: \n\nBeginners are welcome.\nSchool Aged Children\, who follow instructions well and can work and function relatively independently in the classroom and bathroom are welcome to attend.\nAdults are not permitted to register as a student in this class unless registering and attending with the child or children.  (Grab your favorite kiddo and join us!)\nFor the safety of all involved\, we require that Children be dropped-off and picked-up with their instructor in the classroom. Street or parking lot pickups are not permitted.\nChildren may bring a snack and a drink with a lid to class.\nRegistration allows for one Guest per class project.\nOnly Registered Guests may attend class.\nRegistrations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.\nClass starts promptly on time.\nDress to mess or bring an apron.\nYou will be notified when your project is ready to pick up.  We will hold it for 90 days with monthly notifications by text or phone.
