As a special bonus for the evening\, the New Horizons Band in the Pines Swing Band\, led by the Jazz Band’s own Mollie Wilson\, will start off the concert at 6:00PM with the SCC Jazz Band performing from 6:30PM-8:00PM. The concert will be held in BPAC’s Owens Auditorium\, on campus at Sandhills Community College\, 3395 Airport Rd.\, Pinehurst. \nThe SCC Jazz Band is led by Dr. Larry Arnold\, Professor Emeritus at UNC Pembroke and long time Aberdeen resident. Among the talented local musicians who you may know are Rev. Dr. Paul Murphy of Southern Pines\, Larry Wilson who has been with the Band for over 50 years\, Rob Hill\, Music Director at Union Pines High School and former director of the Jazz Band\, Chris Dunn\, Executive Director of the Arts Council of Moore County\, and Robert Dyer\, owner of AMS Heating and Air Conditioning company. \nSCC Jazz Band concerts are free events\, open to the public. Local bluegrass groups are on stage as well as acoustic jams in the Town Church and other areas of this Christian Wild West Themed Town. \nThere is No Charge for admission\, but donations are accepted and appreciated to help offset the expense of keeping the doors open.
