DESCRIPTION:The Pines Times was honored to collaborate with the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens on a special Memorial Day Walk in the Gardens. Through this meaningful project\, we had the privilege of meeting with local families to help share the stories of loved ones who proudly served our country. Memorial Day Walk in the Gardens honors the service\, sacrifice\, and experiences of local veterans through a series of featured stories presented in the Memorial Day gazebo at the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens!\nVisit the gardens\, take a peaceful walk\, and discover the veterans tribute signs placed in the central part of the gardens near the gazebo and creek. Each sign includes a QR code that allows visitors to hear personal stories shared by family members — remembering not only the service of these veterans\, but also the lives they lived and the legacy they left behind. Explore photographs\, biographies\, and personal reflections that highlight the lives and military service of these individuals while connecting remembrance with the peaceful setting of the gardens. Inside the gazebo\, photographs of each veteran are paired with QR codes linking visitors to extended stories and video interviews. These videos provide a deeper look into each veteran’s experiences\, service\, and connection to the community.\nWe extend our deepest gratitude to all service members and their families — especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. It is our hope that this tribute not only honors these heroes but also inspires more families to share their stories so this project can continue to grow in the future. The display will be on view through Sunday\, June 14th. \n \n

The Gallery collects applications from North Carolina artists who meet the entry criteria. Accepted artists are curated in for a two-month exhibition including an artist reception\, opportunity for an artist talk\, and promotional benefits through press releases and print/digital marketing. DESCRIPTION:The Pines Times was honored to collaborate with the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens on a special Memorial Day Walk in the Gardens. Through this meaningful project\, we had the privilege of meeting with local families to help share the stories of loved ones who proudly served our country. Memorial Day Walk in the Gardens honors the service\, sacrifice\, and experiences of local veterans through a series of featured stories presented in the Memorial Day gazebo at the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens!\nVisit the gardens\, take a peaceful walk\, and discover the veterans tribute signs placed in the central part of the gardens near the gazebo and creek. Each sign includes a QR code that allows visitors to hear personal stories shared by family members — remembering not only the service of these veterans\, but also the lives they lived and the legacy they left behind. Explore photographs\, biographies\, and personal reflections that highlight the lives and military service of these individuals while connecting remembrance with the peaceful setting of the gardens. Inside the gazebo\, photographs of each veteran are paired with QR codes linking visitors to extended stories and video interviews. These videos provide a deeper look into each veteran’s experiences\, service\, and connection to the community.\nWe extend our deepest gratitude to all service members and their families — especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. It is our hope that this tribute not only honors these heroes but also inspires more families to share their stories so this project can continue to grow in the future. The display will be on view through Sunday\, June 14th. \n \n

Candidates may not be professionally employed as a working artist. Please refer to the Prospectus for eligibility criteria. \nHow does our Gallery work? The Gallery collects applications from North Carolina artists who meet the entry criteria. Accepted artists are curated in for a two-month exhibition including an artist reception\, opportunity for an artist talk\, and promotional benefits through press releases and print/digital marketing. DESCRIPTION:Visit the Arts Council Galleries at Campbell House to see the special traveling exhibit\, “NC MAKERS\,” featuring photographs by Josh Braswell. \nJosh Braswell is a documentary/reportage photographer. This exhibit is his love letter to the craftspeople\, artists\, farmers\, and creators across North Carolina who show up every day and do the work of making. Cameras have allowed Josh to do things and meet people he never would have thought possible. He shoots a wide range of subject matter in a candid and observational style\, with an emphasis on documenting his home state of North Carolina. SUMMARY:Memorial Day Walk in the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens
DESCRIPTION:The Pines Times was honored to collaborate with the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens on a special Memorial Day Walk in the Gardens. Through this meaningful project\, we had the privilege of meeting with local families to help share the stories of loved ones who proudly served our country. Memorial Day Walk in the Gardens honors the service\, sacrifice\, and experiences of local veterans through a series of featured stories presented in the Memorial Day gazebo at the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens!\nVisit the gardens\, take a peaceful walk\, and discover the veterans tribute signs placed in the central part of the gardens near the gazebo and creek. Each sign includes a QR code that allows visitors to hear personal stories shared by family members — remembering not only the service of these veterans\, but also the lives they lived and the legacy they left behind. Explore photographs\, biographies\, and personal reflections that highlight the lives and military service of these individuals while connecting remembrance with the peaceful setting of the gardens. Inside the gazebo\, photographs of each veteran are paired with QR codes linking visitors to extended stories and video interviews. These videos provide a deeper look into each veteran’s experiences\, service\, and connection to the community.\nWe extend our deepest gratitude to all service members and their families — especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. It is our hope that this tribute not only honors these heroes but also inspires more families to share their stories so this project can continue to grow in the future. The display will be on view through Sunday\, June 14th. \n \n

DESCRIPTION:The Emerging Artist Gallery at the MANN Center for the Arts celebrates the diverse artwork of North Carolina. Up and coming artists and their work are presented to a regional audience in a professional setting. \nWhat is an Emerging Artist? An Emerging Artist is one who is early in their art career\, has limited experience exhibiting\, and seeks to further their creative work. Emerging Artists generally do not have an established resume of exhibitions\, but may have participated in group shows\, fairs and art competitions\, or art auctions. Candidates may not be professionally employed as a working artist. Please refer to the Prospectus for eligibility criteria. \nHow does our Gallery work? The Gallery collects applications from North Carolina artists who meet the entry criteria. Accepted artists are curated in for a two-month exhibition including an artist reception\, opportunity for an artist talk\, and promotional benefits through press releases and print/digital marketing. There is no cost to the artist to apply for this opportunity. \nArtwork is available for purchase with proceeds benefiting the artist and the MANN Center for the Arts.
