SUMMARY:Ruth Pauley Lecture: National Geographic Live-Dr. Lindsay Zanno\, PhD “Rise of T. Rex”
DESCRIPTION:Join as the Ruth Pauley Lecture Series presents: National Geographic Live-Dr. Lindsay Zanno\, PhD “Rise of T. Rex” on Tuesday\, April 28th. \n“Paleontologist Dr. Lindsay Zanno is uncovering the answer. Each year\, she spends several months on expedition\, scouring the badlands of western North America in search of clues. Along the way\, she has discovered many new species – including some of the earliest predecessors of T. Rex. Dr. Zanno takes a fascinating look at how a global climate crisis during the Cretaceous changed the course of evolution for this prehistoric tyrant and its ancestors…” \nThe event will begin at 7:00pm in Owens Auditorium at the Bradshaw Performing Arts Center on the Sandhills Community College campus. The lecture will be preceded with a cash bar in the auditorium lobby and will be followed by a Q&A session and then an informal gathering with the speaker and refreshments in the lobby. All Ruth Pauley lectures are free and open to the public; however\, tickets are required to attend. For additional information and to reserve your space\, follow the event website link provided below. \n \n

SUMMARY:Moore Modernism Talk & Tour: Two Day Celebration with The Pines Preservation Guild
DESCRIPTION:The Pines Preservation Guild invites you to Moore Modernism\, a two-day celebration of mid-century modern architecture happening Friday\, May 29th & Saturday\, May 30th. \nMayberry Modernism Lecture with George Smart: The event begins Friday evening at 6:30PM at the West Southern Pines Center with the “Mayberry Modernism” lecture by US Modernist founder George Smart.
