DESCRIPTION:Join at The Mann Center in Sanford for “Punk Rock 101\,” a free concert and lecture event\, on Friday\, April 24th\, from 7:00PM-8:15PM. “Punk Demystified\,” features a mini-concert by the professional band Oort Patrol alongside an exploration of the genre’s influences\, evolution\, and cultural impact. Following the performance\, have the opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session with the band members. \nThe event is open to the public at no cost. This program is a collaboration involving Central Carolina Community College and is supported by the Lee County Arts Council and the North Carolina Arts Council. Rex” on Tuesday\, April 28th. \n“Paleontologist Dr. Lindsay Zanno is uncovering the answer. Each year\, she spends several months on expedition\, scouring the badlands of western North America in search of clues. Along the way\, she has discovered many new species – including some of the earliest predecessors of T. Rex. Dr. Zanno takes a fascinating look at how a global climate crisis during the Cretaceous changed the course of evolution for this prehistoric tyrant and its ancestors…” \nThe event will begin at 7:00pm in Owens Auditorium at the Bradshaw Performing Arts Center on the Sandhills Community College campus. The lecture will be preceded with a cash bar in the auditorium lobby and will be followed by a Q&A session and then an informal gathering with the speaker and refreshments in the lobby.
