Meet the makers and gain insight into their creative process\, influences\, and current work through slide presentations and a live Q&A session. \nDavid Schnuckle\, a resident glass artist and educator\, brings a conceptual approach to his medium\, while resident ceramic artist Eleni Vogiatzi explores sustainability through the use of wild clays and recycled materials. Each artist will present slides and discuss some of their processes and influences involved in making their work. Each presentation is about 15-20 minutes each. Following the talks\, the artists will be available to meet and answer questions. \nAttendees can enjoy local craft beer\, wine\, or coffee from the Starworks Cafe and Taproom during the presentations. Following the talks\, guests are encouraged to stay for a 7PM ticketed performance of Red by Rhinoleap Productions\, with tickets available at the door. DESCRIPTION:Starworks Exhibition Gallery presents “Off-Leash!”\, a new solo exhibition from ceramic artist Ryan T. Osborne! This exhibition marks a new chapter in Ryan Osborne’s ongoing exploration of the emotional bond between humans and dogs. Building on his acclaimed Eternal Dog series\, originally inspired by the loss of his beloved dog\, Ella\, this exhibition reflects a celebration of movement\, play\, and renewed joy. Through sculptural and expressive forms\, Osborne explores memory and connection while embracing the vitality of canine companionship. In Off-Leash!\, new works expand the series with a sense of freedom and exuberance\, capturing dogs as embodiments of warmth\, loyalty\, and life itself. \nThe public is invited to attend the free Opening Reception on Saturday\, February 7th\, from 5-8pm\, featuring the lovely artwork along with a cash bar. Following the reception\, the gallery remains open to the public Monday-Saturday from 9am-5pm until the show concludes on March 21st. This project is supported by the North Carolina Arts Council and the Arts Councils of Greater Greensboro and Winston-Salem/Forsyth. \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Make Your Own Glass Paperweight with the glassblowers of Starworks on Saturday\, January 24th at 10am\, 11:15am\, or 12:30pm. No experience necessary! Participants must be 10 or older. Ages 10-16 must be accompanied by a guardian. Your work will be ready for pick-up or shipping the Tuesday following the workshop. Shipping is available for an additional fee. Class is $95.
