DESCRIPTION:Kids love to make art\, and our campers are sure to love every minute of our week-long Mixed Media Art Camps at ARTworks Vass! \nParents love how much we love their children\, the manner in which we accommodate special requests\, and that so many of the projects that we’ll make are of such a quality that they will be treasured for years or even a lifetime. \nMixed Media Creative Kids Art Camp\, from June 15th through June 19th\, will focus on Fused Glass\, Hand Built Pottery\, Fiber Art\, Two Dimensional Art and Ceramics. \nWhile you’ll notice that our Mixed Media Art Camps are offered several times this summer\, each will provide a unique experience with a variety of projects in each of these mediums. We always have a few surprises up our sleeves to keep things interesting too! \nYour Children will have more fun than you can possibly imagine as they build confidence\, develop skills\, and enjoy the camraderie of their new friends in our creative classes. \nWe enter each camp week with a well-planned curriculum that includes a ton of variety for your Children. We also allow room for flexibility to adjust our camp schedule and our camp projects based on the needs and preferences of the registered guests in attendance. \nSchedule for Full Day Campers \n\nCamp will be held Monday through Friday.\nDrop Off will be from 8:45 until 9:00.\nMorning Sessions will be from 9:00 until 12:00.\nLunch will be from 12:00 until 1:00.\nAfternoon sessions will be from 1:00 until 4:00.\nPickup will be at 4:00.\n\nSchedule for Morning Only Campers \n\nCamp will be held Monday through Friday.\nDrop-off will be from 8:45 until 9:00.\nMorning Sessions will be from 9:00 until 12:00.\nPickup will be at 12:00.\n\nSchedule for Afternoon Only Campers \n\nCamp will be held Monday through Friday.\nDrop Off will be from 12:45 until 1:00.\nAfternoon sessions will be from 1:00 until 4:00.\nPickup will be at 4:00.\n\nIf you need to arrange early drop off or pick up for your Campers\, please text the specific details of your request to ARTworks Vass Owner\, Jean Skipper\, at 910-528-1109 before registering. No two pears will ever be exactly alike!\n\nThis class is perfect for beginners and anyone looking to try something new\, creative\, and unforgettable. You’ll gain a behind-the-scenes look at the fascinating art of glassblowing while experiencing the heat\, teamwork\, and excitement of working with molten glass.\n\nClass Highlights:\n\n 	Create one hand-blown glass pear\n 	Choose from a variety of color combinations\n 	Hands-on instruction from an experienced glassblower\n 	No experience necessary\n 	A fun and memorable creative experience\n\nYour glass project will need to cool slowly (anneal). DESCRIPTION:Young athletes ages 5-12 are invited to join the Pinecrest All-Star Baseball Camp from Monday\, June 15th–Thursday\, June 18th at the Pinecrest High School Baseball Field. Led by Pinecrest Head Baseball Coach Jeff Hewitt and co-sponsored by Southern Pines\, Aberdeen and Pinehurst Parks and Recreation\, the camp offers instruction on essential baseball skills and techniques. Camp runs from 8:00am-11:00am each day\, and registration is $85. All participants will receive a camp t-shirt. DESCRIPTION:The Emerging Artist Gallery at the MANN Center for the Arts celebrates the diverse artwork of North Carolina. Up and coming artists and their work are presented to a regional audience in a professional setting. \nWhat is an Emerging Artist? An Emerging Artist is one who is early in their art career\, has limited experience exhibiting\, and seeks to further their creative work. Emerging Artists generally do not have an established resume of exhibitions\, but may have participated in group shows\, fairs and art competitions\, or art auctions. Candidates may not be professionally employed as a working artist. Please refer to the Prospectus for eligibility criteria. \nHow does our Gallery work? The Gallery collects applications from North Carolina artists who meet the entry criteria. Accepted artists are curated in for a two-month exhibition including an artist reception\, opportunity for an artist talk\, and promotional benefits through press releases and print/digital marketing. There is no cost to the artist to apply for this opportunity. \nArtwork is available for purchase with proceeds benefiting the artist and the MANN Center for the Arts.
