Join Wayne on Wednesday\, June 17th at 8:00 am and create your very own hand-blown glass pear in the color combination of your choice from a variety of beautiful options available in the hot shop.\n\nDuring this experience\, you’ll work one-on-one with Wayne to help shape molten glass into a stunning pear keepsake. No two pears will ever be exactly alike!\n\nThis class is perfect for beginners and anyone looking to try something new\, creative\, and unforgettable. You’ll gain a behind-the-scenes look at the fascinating art of glassblowing while experiencing the heat\, teamwork\, and excitement of working with molten glass.\n\nClass Highlights:\n\n 	Create one hand-blown glass pear\n 	Choose from a variety of color combinations\n 	Hands-on instruction from an experienced glassblower\n 	No experience necessary\n 	A fun and memorable creative experience\n\nYour glass project will need to cool slowly (anneal). Pick it up a few days after class or arrange shipping for an additional fee.\n\nImportant Information:\n\n 	No experience needed—beginners welcome!\n 	Please note: ARTworks Vass is home to friendly gallery/studio cats who may be present during classes and events. 🐾\n 	Ages 14+ are invited to participate. Students under 14 may be accommodated by special arrangement—text Jean at 910-528-1109 to discuss.\n 	One guest per project is allowed.\n 	Class Length: Allow 60 minutes for your glass-blowing experience.\n 	All supplies are included.\n 	Registration is non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.\n 	Dress code: Wear cotton or other natural fiber clothing\, long sleeves\, long pants\, and closed-toe shoes.\n 	At ARTworks Vass\, you’re always welcome to bring your own Nibbles and Sips to class.\n 	Your glass project will need to cool slowly (anneal). Pick it up a few days after class or arrange shipping for an additional fee.\n 	You will be notified when your project is ready to pick up.  We will hold it for 90 days with monthly notifications by text or phone. SUMMARY:Pinecrest All-Star Baseball Camp 2026 (Ages 5-12)
DESCRIPTION:Young athletes ages 5-12 are invited to join the Pinecrest All-Star Baseball Camp from Monday\, June 15th–Thursday\, June 18th at the Pinecrest High School Baseball Field. Led by Pinecrest Head Baseball Coach Jeff Hewitt and co-sponsored by Southern Pines\, Aberdeen and Pinehurst Parks and Recreation\, the camp offers instruction on essential baseball skills and techniques. Camp runs from 8:00am-11:00am each day\, and registration is $85. All participants will receive a camp t-shirt. Registration can be completed on any of the towns’ Parks & Recreation Departments’ websites.

DESCRIPTION:The Emerging Artist Gallery at the MANN Center for the Arts celebrates the diverse artwork of North Carolina. Up and coming artists and their work are presented to a regional audience in a professional setting. \nWhat is an Emerging Artist? An Emerging Artist is one who is early in their art career\, has limited experience exhibiting\, and seeks to further their creative work. Emerging Artists generally do not have an established resume of exhibitions\, but may have participated in group shows\, fairs and art competitions\, or art auctions. Candidates may not be professionally employed as a working artist. Please refer to the Prospectus for eligibility criteria. \nHow does our Gallery work? The Gallery collects applications from North Carolina artists who meet the entry criteria. Accepted artists are curated in for a two-month exhibition including an artist reception\, opportunity for an artist talk\, and promotional benefits through press releases and print/digital marketing. There is no cost to the artist to apply for this opportunity. \nArtwork is available for purchase with proceeds benefiting the artist and the MANN Center for the Arts.
