The theme of the 2025-26 Classical Concert Series (CCS) is “Rinse & Repeat.” Performing on Monday\, March 30th\, 7:30pm-9:30pm\, is Galvin Cello Quartet. This is the 4th of four chamber music concerts in the Classical Concert Series\, performed at the Sunrise Theater. \nBack by popular demand\, the Galvin Cello Quartet returns to Moore County with their untamable desire to bring joy through music and to explore and expand the possibilities of the cello quartet. The group takes its name from Galvin Recital Hall at Northwestern University where three of its original members met as students and then captured the Silver Medal at the 2021 Fischoff Competition\, followed by winning the 2022 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition. SUMMARY:RePlay Instrument & RePaint Art Supplies Drive
DESCRIPTION:With thousands of children signing up for classes in art\, band and orchestra in Moore County Schools\, the Arts Council of Moore County and Kiwanis Club of the Sandhills present the RePaint Art Supplies Drive & RePlay Murphy Instrument Drive! The drive runs August 18th-August 22nd. The RePaint Art Supplies Drive collects art supplies and puts them in Moore County Schools’ art classrooms. The RePlay Murphy Instrument Drive\, presented in partnership by the Arts Council and Kiwanis Club of the Sandhills\, collects new and unused band and orchestra instruments and puts them in the hands of Moore County students\, free of charge. \nThere are three ways to donate art supplies and musical instruments: \nDrop off items at the Arts Council Galleries at Campbell House between August 18th and 22nd from 10am-5pm.\nSchedule a pickup by calling the ACMC at 910-692-2787 by August 21st.\nTo make a financial donation\, write checks payable to ACMC/RePlay or RePaint and either mail them to the Arts Council or drop them off at the Campbell House by August 19th from 10am-5pm or on any weekday from 10am-5pm. \nIf you cannot donate during these dates\, donations are accepted year-round. The art will be on exhibition at the Arts Council Campbell House Galleries in Southern Pines July 23rd-August 27th (weekdays 10am-5pm) & Saturday\, August 16th | 12pm-2pm. The Opening Reception & Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday\, August 1st | 6pm-8pm with the Awards Ceremony beginning at 7pm. \n“The Arts Council of Moore County (ACMC) created the Fine Arts Festival in 1980 to provide incentive for local artists to improve their technique and a place to showcase and sell their artwork. The festival has since grown into a major exhibit featuring artwork by artists from all over the country. The event also includes an art competition where the entries are judged\, and cash prizes and ribbons are awarded.” \n
