In this class\, you will cut and shape glass pieces using vibrant shades handpicked by you. You’ll learn to grind the edges of your glass to smooth perfection and apply copper foil to prepare your project for soldering. \nYour project will come together when Kathy takes your project home to finish with solder\, ensuring a professional\, durable finish. Everything is included. \nClass Highlights: \n\nCut\, grind\, and foil your glass pieces\nWork with a variety of beautiful glass colors\nLearn essential stained glass techniques\n\nNo prior experience needed! Whether you’re a first-timer or looking to sharpen your stained glass skills\, this class will provide you with the tools and techniques to make something truly beautiful. The free-form design means no two pieces will ever be the same! You’ll also explore texture techniques to add decorative patterns before choosing from a selection of studio glazes to finish your piece. \nThis class is perfect for beginners and experienced clay lovers alike. Join us for this hands-on pottery class on Wednesday\, May 6th at 5:30 with Marie the Potter where you’ll create your very own full clay chess set—no experience needed\, just a love for creativity (and maybe a little strategy 😉). \nIn this 2-session workshop\, you’ll hand-build all 32 pieces—from regal kings and queens to charming pawns—bringing personality and character to every piece. Whether you lean classic or whimsical\, your set will be uniquely yours. \nWhat to Expect: \n\nLearn essential hand-building techniques including pinch and sculpting methods\nCreate all chess pieces: king\, queen\, bishops\, knights\, rooks\, and pawns\nExplore design details and textures to give each piece its own flair\nGuidance on keeping your pieces balanced\, proportional\, and game-ready\nFinish your set with your choice of glaze colors during a follow-up session\nSecond session is Wednesday\, May 13th at 5:30\n\n🎨 Skill Level: Beginners welcome—no experience needed \n🧱 All materials included (clay\, tools\, glaze\, and firing) \n♟️ Note: Chess board not included—just the stars of the show! \nWhether you’re a chess lover\, a clay enthusiast\, or just someone who likes making cool things with your hands—this class is your move. ♟️✨ \nThis entire process can take up to 4 weeks\, depending on the humidity level\, and the time that it takes pottery to thoroughly dry between kiln firings.
