DESCRIPTION:Come attend the Sandhills Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Support Group on the first Thursday of every month. “Collaborating with and assisting individuals and families living with chronic kidney disease with non-medical\, peer-to-peer mentorship\, navigation\, and resources.” The group’s co-founders and facilitators are Dr. Matthew Harmody a non-directed living kidney donor\, Kathy Beeman a retired nurse and kidney recipient\, and Angela Gaskell a kidney recipient and advocate. The meetings take place 5:30pm-7:30pm at the Clara McLean House in Pinehurst. The group welcomes all individuals affected by chronic kidneys disease: caregivers\, friends\, families\, recipients\, donors\, current and future dialysis patients who need help with non-medical challenges and a place to find resources.
