DESCRIPTION:SCC Jazz Band Presents “Swingin’ Under Blue Skies” \n\n\n\nThe SCC Jazz Band\, the “Sound of Swing in the Sandhills” for over 58 years\, will be “Swingin’ Under Blue Skies” on Monday\, August 10th\, 2026. The concert will be held in BPAC’s Owens Auditorium\, on campus at Sandhills Community College\, 3395 Airport Rd.\, Pinehurst\, from 6:30PM-8:00PM. \n\n\n\nJoin the SCC Jazz Band for a concert with jazz and swing favorites you will enjoy including “Blue Skies”\, “I Can’t Believe That You’re In Love With Me”\, “Blue Moon”\, “Cold Duck Time”\, “Crystal Silence”\, and “Moten Swing”. \n\n\n\nThe SCC Jazz Band is led by Dr. Larry Arnold\, Professor Emeritus at UNC Pembroke and long time Aberdeen resident. Among the talented local musicians who you may know are Rev. Dr. Paul Murphy of Southern Pines\, Larry Wilson who has been with the Band for over 50 years\, Rob Hill\, Music Director at Union Pines High School and former director of the Jazz Band\, Chris Dunn\, Executive Director of the Arts Council of Moore County\, and Robert Dyer\, owner of AMS Heating and Air Conditioning company. \n\n\n\nSCC Jazz Band concerts are free events\, open to the public.
