DESCRIPTION:Sandhills Fliers invites students in grades 6-12 to take part in an exciting Aviation STEM Club series this spring\, blending hands-on learning with real-world aviation experiences. Each session runs from 5:30pm-7:30pm at Moore County Airport and includes dinner\, a guest speaker\, and an interactive STEM activity. \nThe series kicks off on February 20th with Hands-on Maintenance\, where students get an up-close look at aircraft care and what it takes to keep planes flying safely. On March 20th\, participants put their problem-solving skills to the test during an Engineering Tournament focused on aviation challenges. April 17th explores Weather & Wind\, helping students understand how atmospheric conditions impact flight and pilot decision-making. The final session on May 15th wraps up with Myth Busting & Spaghetti\, a fun\, creative engineering activity that challenges common assumptions while building and testing designs. \nSTEM\, aviation\, and hands-on fun come together in this engaging spring program.
