If you haven’t heard the wonderful and exciting sounds of close harmony in recent times\, now is a great opportunity to hear and enjoy the timeless melodies and 4 part harmonies of today’s more modern barbershop sound. \nThe Golf Capital Chorus\, a barbershop group in Moore County\, practices weekly\, holds a fall concert\, and hosts events for barbershop groups statewide and nationally. If you are a “closet” singer and would like to try your hand at singing Barbershop\, join on any Monday night at the Community Presbyterian Church in Pinehurst at 7:00pm. No previous musical experience required. You don’t even have to read music. If you can carry a tune in a bucket\, you can sing Barbershop. DESCRIPTION:Join for the 2025 Carolina’s District Spring Convention and Contest\, hosted by Golf Capital Chorus on Friday\, April 4th and Saturday\, April 5th at Owens Auditorium on the campus of Sandhills Community College! Every year\, the Carolinas District holds a regional competition in order to determine which choruses and quartets from North and South Carolina will go to the International Barbershop Competition later this year. For 2025\, the Golf Capital Chorus will host this competition right here in Southern Pines! It is an amazing opportunity to hear some truly world class performers sing a variety of old and new tunes in that close harmony style that we love so much. Come check the action! \nThe weekend of fun kicks off with the Quartet Semi-finals starting at 6:00pm on Friday. Saturday morning at 10:00am the chorus competition and Harmony Showcase will take place for the right to represent the district at the International Contest in St. Louis\, MO in July 2026. Cap off the weekend with the quartet finals on Saturday evening starting at 7:15pm. \nTickets are $20 on-line or $25 at the door for Friday and Saturday morning session and $35 for Saturday night Finals.
