DESCRIPTION:Visit the Hastings Art Gallery to view Deconstruction of a Twin Bunk Bed. “This thought-provoking exhibition by artist Jessica Dupuis transforms a familiar twin bunk bed into sculptural fragments that explore memory\, domestic space\, and the labor of care. Installed in the intimate Hastings Gallery\, the work uses deconstructed materials\, negative space\, and thoughtful placement to blur the line between functional object and contemplative artwork. Visitors are invited to move around the piece\, discovering shifting perspectives that echo layered experiences of home and childhood.” \nAn Opening Reception takes place on Tuesday\, February 17th from 11:30am-1:00pm. Prior to the reception a free public lecture will take place in Kennedy Room 002 from 10:00am-11:00am. The exhibit will be on view through Wednesday\, March 4th. \n“The Jean Hastings Art Gallery displays exhibits of art\, photography\, crafts and other artifacts. The Jean Hastings Art Gallery is housed in the Katharine L. Boyd Library on the campus of Sandhills Community College. Guest and student art is displayed on a monthly basis.
