SUMMARY:Town Creek Under the Stars: Welcome the Autumn Astronomy Season
DESCRIPTION:Come out as Town Creek Indian Mound NC Historic Site hosts Town Creek Under the Stars! The evening begins with the “What’s Up!” presentation\, an auditorium program providing information about what to look for that night and a little of the folklore associated with it. Then\, take in the darkening view as the Milky Way stretches high overhead\, from horizon to horizon. Bring your telescope or binoculars to observe planet Saturn and stars like Altair and Vega. Enjoy the cool evening air as we watch for satellites and constellations. Participants should dress for the weather and may wish to bring a red light to help them see in the darkness. Chairs and blankets welcome.\nThe cost is $5.00 per person\, and preregistration is required.
