Author Event: Bob Crawford (Of the Avett Brothers) Book Discussion

Join as The Country Bookshop is presenting a special evening with Bob Crawford, bassist for the Avett Brothers, at the Sunrise Theater in Southern Pines on Wednesday, April 22nd. The event, which runs from 7:00PM-8:30PM, features a discussion of Crawford’s new book, “America’s Founding Son: John Quincy Adams from President to Political Maverick”. This biography explores the life of John Quincy Adams, highlighting his transition from an unsuccessful presidential reelection to becoming a critical ally in the antislavery cause through grassroots activism.
Tickets for the event are $5 for general admission and $30 that includes a copy of the book. Additional copies will also be available for purchase. This deep dive into a pivotal era of American history showcases Adams as a political maverick whose efforts against slave power helped lay the groundwork for future emancipation.
