Hop into spring with a fun and colorful fused glass project!

Kids are invited to join Kathy Downs on Saturday, March 28th from 9:30–11:00 to design their own sparkling fused glass Easter egg.

In this hands-on class, young artists will create a bright egg-shaped sun catcher using an assortment of colorful glass pieces. Guests can mix shades of blues, pastels, and spring colors to design a one-of-a-kind egg that will look beautiful hanging in a sunny window.

No experience is needed—just bring your imagination! Kathy will guide students step-by-step as they learn how to safely arrange glass pieces into a playful design.

After class, the eggs will be carefully kiln-fired and ready to pick up just in time to display your child’s handmade spring creation or give as a special gift. (Ready by Easter!)

Kathy Downs discovered her passion for glass art in 2011 when she and her family moved to the Quantico, VA area. Initially her small glass pieces were unique gifts for family and friends but as her collection and skills grew, she started selling her glass to fund her “glass” habit! She now creates both large and small fused glass in her home-based studio and with 38 years of eduction experience, she is excited to teach and mentor aspiring glass artists through her fused glass classes at ARTworks Vass!
