Join us for a magical kids class inspired by the beautiful story If You Want to Make a Wish. We’ll begin by reading this heartwarming book together, then each child will paint their very own bright and cheerful star pottery piece to take home.
Kids can let their imaginations shine as they decorate their star with colorful dots, swirls, patterns, or wish-inspired designs. This class is all about creativity, storytelling, and a little bit of magic!
Class Highlights:
- Storytime reading of If You Want to Make a Wish
- Paint your own star pottery project
- Choose fun colors and create a one-of-a-kind design
- A relaxing and creative experience perfect for young artists
No experience needed — just bring your imagination and your biggest wishes!
Finished fired piece will be ready for pickup approximately 2 weeks after class. ⭐
Book Description: You can make a wish on many things: on a star, on a penny, or by blowing out the candles of your cake. Some wishes are easy but some are hard, like wishing people would be kind to each other or that your grandparent isn’t sick. But by taking action, we can make even the hardest wishes come true.
This mindful, warm text from author Jennifer Adams paired with the upbeat, bold art of Sara Gillingham shows the many ways we can help along even our toughest wishes.
Students will select a five-point star or six-point star ornament (5 inch) to paint with glaze colors of their choice.
All supplies provided.
Kathy Downs discovered her passion for glass art in 2011 when she and her family moved to the Quantico, VA area. Initially her small glass pieces were unique gifts for family and friends but as her collection and skills grew, she started selling her glass to fund her “glass” habit! She now creates both large and small fused glass in her home-based studio and, with 38 years of education experience, she enjoys teaching and mentoring aspiring artists through her fused glass and kid’s classes at ARTworks Vass!
