Create a beautiful handmade pottery canister that’s as functional as it is artistic! Join Beth Roy on Wednesday, July 29th from 5:30 to 8:30 for this beginner-friendly hand building pottery class. You will design and construct a lidded canister similar in style to the sample shown, featuring textured surfaces, carved designs, and a custom-fitted lid. Using slab-building techniques, you’ll learn how to form a cylindrical vessel, create a matching lid, and add decorative elements through carving, stamping, and texturing. Whether you prefer elegant swirls, geometric patterns, florals, nature-inspired motifs, or something completely unique, you’ll have plenty of creative freedom to make your piece your own. Once completed, you’ll select a glaze color from our available options. The glaze will highlight the texture and carving details, creating a beautiful finished piece that is perfect for storing coffee, tea, cookies, pet treats, cotton balls, or other treasures. No pottery experience is necessary. After class, Beth will carefully dry, kiln fire, glaze, and kiln fire your work again. Finished items will be ready for pickup about 4 weeks after class, depending on drying time and humidity. We’ll notify you when it’s ready! All materials, tools, instruction, one glaze color selection, two kiln firings and expert instruction are included. Important Information:

• Children age 14 and older may attend class independently.
• Children under age 14 may join this class if a responsible adult also registers to attend and participate with them.
• Registration allows for 1 person per class. Only those who have registered may participate.
• Registrations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
• Class starts promptly, so be sure to arrive on time.
• At ARTworks Vass, you’re always welcome to bring your own Nibbles and Sips to class.
• You will be notified when your project is ready to pick up.  We will hold it for 90 days with monthly notifications by text or phone. If you haven’t requested an extension or picked up your work within 90 days, your project will be disposed of at the gallery’s discretion.
