The Robeson Road Runners present Rumba on the Lumber, a two-day festival of family fun held on March 6th and 7th!

The event kicks off Friday, March 6th, from 4:00PM-8:00PM with a Food Truck Extravaganza, a Beer Garden at The Alley at 219 Elm, and live music by Gary Lowder and Smokin’ Hot.

Activities continue Saturday, March 7th, starting at 9:00AM with the UNC Health Southeastern 5K, 10K, and Family Fun Mile; 5K and 10K runners receive a t-shirt and entry to the chili cookoff, though pets are not allowed on the race course.

From 10:00AM-5:00PM, the festival features business, craft, and food vendors, a Kids Zone, and Allen Orthopedic’s Party on the Plaza with entertainment by Second Time Around Big Band, Ron Jefferson’s Immortal MJ Tribute, and Eddy Kbrera.

The UNC Health race awards take place from 11:00AM-12PM, coinciding with the Coors Light Chili Roundup Chili Cookoff from 11:00AM-2:00PM. For a $5 cash entry, guests at the cookoff receive unlimited samples and two free beverages while enjoying music by The Legacy Motown Revue. The weekend concludes with the Lumber River United Way Lucky Duck Derby at 2:15PM.
