Fall has a way of drawing us outdoors. The air cools, pumpkins begin appearing at roadside stands and local farms welcome visitors for corn mazes, hayrides and afternoons spent wandering the fields.
Across Moore, Lee, Hoke and Richmond Counties, fall on the farm can be as simple as stopping for a locally grown pumpkin or as adventurous as finding your way through acres of corn.
We’ve gathered some of the places to enjoy the season close to home, along with a few nearby destinations worth the drive.

Kalawi Farm & Ben’s Homemade Ice Cream
1515 NC Highway 211, Eagle Springs, NC
Kalawi Farm has been part of the Moore County landscape for generations. The fourth-generation family farm is perhaps best known locally for fresh produce and Ben’s Homemade Ice Cream, but fall brings another reason to make the drive to Eagle Springs.
The farm’s fall season includes a pumpkin patch, corn maze and hayrides, creating an easy autumn outing for families looking to spend some time outdoors.
Generally,Fall Fun at Kalawi Farm begins the last weekend of September and continues on select dates through the November 1. Open Friday, Saturday & Sundays.
At the farm: Pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayrides, seasonal produce, Ben’s Homemade Ice Cream and family activities.

Not every fall outing needs a full day of attractions.
Doby Farm in Cameron offers a more traditional local farm stop, with seasonal products and pumpkins available during the fall. Keep an eye out for the different shapes, colors and varieties that make picking a pumpkin half the fun.
It’s a simple way to welcome the season, find something for the front porch and support a Moore County farm along the way.

A Sweet Fall Collaboration in Carthage
C.V. Pilson Farm and Highlanders Farm are teaming up for a little extra fall fun this season! Stop by C.V. Pilson Farm to pick out pumpkins, mini pumpkins and gourds, mums and corn stalks—everything you need to give your porch a festive fall makeover.
And while you’re there, make it even sweeter with Highlanders Farm ice cream! 🍦🎃 It’s an easy fall stop for pumpkins, local goodies and a treat for the ride home.

Gross Farms Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch
1606 Pickett Road, Sanford, NC
For generations, farming has been a way of life at Gross Farms in Sanford. Today, the seventh-generation North Carolina Century Farm invites visitors onto the farm each fall for one of the area’s largest seasonal farm experiences.
At the center of it all is a 10-acre corn maze with more than five miles of pathways and three different puzzles. Beyond the maze, visitors can head to the pumpkin patch, take a hayride and spend time enjoying activities around the farm.
The Season usually starts the last Friday in September- November 1
The Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch operates during the fall season, with additional weekday pumpkin patch hours offered during October.
At the farm: 10-acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, hayrides, maze challenges, children’s activities and plenty of opportunities for fall photographs.
Pick Your Own Pumpkins, Corn Maze & Fall Fun!
Fall fun has arrived in Cameron! Beginning September 28, head to the farm for Pick Your Own Pumpkins, a Corn Maze and Kids Play Park, open daily throughout the season. While they’re blooming, you can also wander through the field and pick your own sunflowers!
Weekdays | 8am–6pm
Admission is $10 for kids and $7 for adults, with ages 2 and under free. Admission includes one pumpkin and one sunflower per person. Please note that public hayrides are not offered during the week.
Friday & Saturday
Admission is $14 for kids and $9 for adults and includes a hayride, one pumpkin and one sunflower.

Some fall traditions are worth adding a few extra miles to the afternoon.
Hope Mills, NC
Just outside our primary coverage area, Gallberry Corn Maze in Hope Mills turns the farm into a Fall Harvest Festival each year.
Typicall starts the third weekend in September-November 1, with a corn maze, pumpkins, hayrides, farm animals and other activities spread throughout the farm.
Visitors may also find a barrel train, food trucks, treats and live music on select dates.
It’s an easy addition to the list for families looking for a larger fall farm experience within driving distance of The Pines.
Make the trip to Hubb’s Farm in Clinton for a full day of fall fun! Their annual Fall Festival features a 15-acre corn maze, Pumpkinville, tractor-pulled wagon rides, farm animals, giant slides, a jumping pillow, nature trails, photo ops and 40+ attractions for the family. This year’s corn maze even has a special “Champs” theme!

Fall Fun at Huckleberry Trail Farm
Head to Huckleberry Trail Farm in Siler City for some good old-fashioned fall fun! Explore the 4.5-acre corn maze, hop aboard a tractor-drawn hayride to the pumpkin patch, visit the cotton patch and enjoy old-timey farm games, giant slingshots and plenty of activities for the kids. Don’t forget an apple cider slushie and some baked treats while you’re there!

Take a fall road trip to Millstone Creek Orchards in Ramseur! While this year’s popular Apple Pickin’ Adventure is sold out, there’s still plenty of fall fun waiting at the orchard. Make a day of it at Naylor Family Farm in Fuquay-Varina! Their 2026 fall season is packed with family fun, including a pumpkin patch, giant corn maze, 30-minute hayride, petting zoo, Jump Barn, barrel trains, giant slides, a 120-foot pirate ship, real helicopter play area and more than 20 attractions. Each paid Farm Pass even includes a pumpkin to take home!

Take a fall road trip to Phillips Farms of Cary for acres of outdoor, screen-free family fun! Explore the seasonal corn maze and sunflower field, visit the Pint Sized Pasture petting zoo, bounce on the pillows, race pedal carts, take a wagon ride, hop aboard the cow and grain trains, tackle the mega slide and enjoy plenty more farm activities.

Ready for a fall adventure? Tart’s Mega Corn Maze in Dunn opens for the season October 3! The centerpiece is the 3-in-1 Mega Maze, but there’s plenty more farm fun to enjoy, including games, play areas, farm animals and activities for the kids.

Before You Head to the Farm
Fall fun on a working farm comes with a few variables. Weather and growing conditions can affect corn mazes, hayrides and pumpkin availability, and popular varieties may become harder to find as Halloween approaches.
Check hours before leaving home, wear comfortable shoes that can handle a little dirt or mud, and look ahead to see whether tickets need to be purchased in advance. Early fall afternoons can still be warm in North Carolina, while evenings can cool down quickly.
And if finding the perfect pumpkin is part of the plan, don’t wait until the last weekend in October.
