Registration is now open for the 2026 EGG-cellent Egg Contest, hosted by 4-H and NC Cooperative Extension! Designed for 4-H members with egg-laying chicken flocks, participants can submit up to two sets of a half-dozen (6) eggs across different categories, which are judged on uniformity as well as exterior and interior quality.

Non-members interested in participating can contact their local county Extension agent to get enrolled before the July 31st registration deadline. Contestants must attend two mandatory Zoom trainings—an Orientation Zoom on August 4th and an In-Depth Training Zoom on August 18th—and complete age-based supplemental project components due September 16th, with winners announced on September 29th.
