50-Miler Backpacking TripSummit Adventure Inc. is organizing a 50-Miler Backpacking and Cold-Weather Camping Excursion in the Uwharrie National Forest from December 26th-December 31st. Open to participants ages 14 and older, the 5-day Trek departs from Yates Place Campground and serves as ideal preparation for Philmont or requirements for the backpacking merit badge. Hikers must supply their own gear and meals for the 50-mile trail, though dinner on the final night will be provided and hosted by the event staff. Participants who complete the full distance will earn the official event patch.
Cost: $50 per participant if registered by October 31st, 2026
