A Paddle & A Picnic on the Cape Fear: Fall Fundraiser

Sustainable Sandhills is hosting A Paddle & A Picnic on the Cape Fear: Fall Edition on Sunday, October 4th, starting at 11:00AM. This guided three-mile paddle expedition doubles as a fall fundraiser benefiting local water quality programs, taking paddlers 1.5 miles upstream along the Cape Fear River to a rock garden for an educational talk on the local ecosystem and a catered picnic lunch by Beehive Yourself NC. After floating 1.5 miles back downstream, guests can gather for an optional Dutch treat dinner at The Riverside Grill.
Suitable for paddlers of all skill levels ages 12 and up—with minors accompanied by an adult—the route features mostly flat water with one section of Class I rapids. Bring-Your-Own-Boat tickets are $50, while Rent-A-Boat tickets via Cape Fear River Adventures, LLC are $90 and must be reserved by September 27th.
