Color Splash Blown Glass Tumbler Workshop with Wayne Manning – Glass in Vass at ARTworks Vass

Add a little color to your day with this exciting hands-on glassblowing experience! Join our talented glassblower Wayne Manning on Thursday, June 25th at 6:00 pm and create your own one-of-a-kind hand-blown tumbler.
You’ll select from a variety of colorful glass chips and frit to create a playful confetti-style pattern that is uniquely yours. Then, with Wayne’s guidance, you’ll help shape molten glass into a functional tumbler perfect for water, juice, cocktails, or displaying on a shelf as a work of art.
What to Expect:
Wayne will guide you step-by-step through the glass blowing process as glassblowing is very much a choreographed collaboration. By the end of your session, you’ll be amazed by what you’ve created!
This class is designed for beginners and offers a fun introduction to the fascinating world of hot glass. It also makes a great couples activity, friends’ outing, or unique gift experience.
Due to the handmade nature of glass, slight variations in size, shape, and color placement make each piece uniquely yours.
Your glass project will need to cool slowly (anneal). Pick it up a few days after class or arrange shipping for an additional fee.

- No experience needed—beginners welcome!
- Please note: ARTworks Vass is home to friendly gallery/studio cats who may be present during classes and events. 🐾
- Ages 14+ are invited to participate. Students under 14 may be accommodated by special arrangement—text Jean at 910-528-1109 to discuss.
- One guest per project is allowed.
- Class Length: Allow 90 minutes for your glass-blowing experience.
- All supplies are included.
- Registration is non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
- Dress code: Wear cotton or other natural fiber clothing, long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes.
- At ARTworks Vass, you’re always welcome to bring your own Nibbles and Sips to class.
- Your glass project will need to cool slowly (anneal). Pick it up a few days after class or arrange shipping for an additional fee.
- You will be notified when your project is ready to pick up. We will hold it for 90 days with monthly notifications by text or phone. If you haven’t requested an extension or picked up your work within 90 days, your project will be disposed of at the gallery’s discretion.

Arrival:
Please check in at the ARTworks Vass Gallery at least 15 minutes before your start time. Late arrivals may have a shorter experience.
Parking is available in front of our building, beside Crossroads Coffee at the Rescue Squad, or at Vass Town Hall on Alma Street.

Wayne lives in Vass, NC and teaches art at Union Pines High School. His passion is glass blowing, and you can find his work—including blown glass hearts, bunnies, starfish, pumpkins, and ornaments and more—on display in the ARTworks Vass Gallery.
