Join Kathleen and a warm, welcoming group of artists for weekly Decorative Painting classes on Wednesdays from 9:30 – 12:30. Classes are offered September through Thanksgiving and January through May, making this a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a creative morning, learn new skills, and connect with fellow artists.

Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the very first time or you’ve been painting for years, beginners are absolutely welcome! Kathleen provides step-by-step instruction using line drawings, guiding you through each stage of the project so you can create a beautiful finished piece you’ll be proud to display.

What to Expect

Registration: $112 for four consecutive 3-hour classes.

Please note: There are no credits or refunds for missed classes.

After registering, Kathleen will contact you to discuss your start date and the necessary supplies for you to bring.

Meet Your Instructor: Kathleen Miller

Kathleen’s lifelong passion for Traditional Decorative Painting began more than 40 years ago with a single class—and what started as a hobby grew into a remarkable artistic journey. She has been accredited by the International Society of Decorative Painters, and her work has been featured in the White House, the Smithsonian, and the Folk Art Museum in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Kathleen often finds inspiration for her still life and landscape paintings during trips to New England and Colonial Williamsburg, bringing years of experience, knowledge, and artistic inspiration to every class.

Think you can’t paint? Think again! Kathleen will show you that you absolutely can—one stroke at a time.

• Beginners are welcome!
• Please note: ARTworks Vass is home to friendly gallery/studio cats who may be present during classes and events. 🐾
• Most projects take 2 or more classes to complete.
• Children age 14 and older may attend class independently.
• Registration allows for 1 person per class.
• Only registered may attend class.
• Registrations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
• Class starts promptly as scheduled.
• Dress to mess or bring an apron.
• At ARTworks Vass, you’re always welcome to bring your own Nibbles and Sips to class.
