Celebrate Dad with a handmade gift straight from the heart! Drop in on
Saturday, June 20th between 10:00 and 2:00 for this free Father’s Day activity where children will create a one-of-a-kind keepsake and card for their favorite dad, grandfather, stepdad, or special father figure.
Kids will enjoy three creative activities:

Decorate a Father’s Day Card
Personalize a pre-printed Father’s Day card using markers, crayons, and colored pencils.

Create a Felt Keepsake Card
Learn a simple hand-sewing technique while making a miniature felt Father’s Day card. Children will use felt, a button, embroidery thread, fabric markers, and a sewing needle to create a sweet handmade surprise that fits inside their card envelope.

Wooden Fish Craft (Optional)
For dads who love fishing, kids can decorate a small wooden fish using Sharpie markers and add it to their Father’s Day gift.
This free activity is perfect for children who want to create a meaningful, handmade gift for Dad. All materials are provided while supplies last.
Ages: School-aged children
Cost: Free
Registration: Not required, but arriving early is recommended as supplies are limited.
Parents/grandparents/guardians are welcome to join in the fun.

Kathy Downs discovered her passion for glass art in 2011 when she and her family moved to the Quantico, VA area. Initially her small glass pieces were unique gifts for family and friends but as her collection and skills grew, she started selling her glass to fund her “glass” habit! She now creates both large and small fused glass in her home-based studio and, with 38 years of education experience, she enjoys teaching and mentoring aspiring artists through her fused glass and kid’s classes at ARTworks Vass!
Important Information:
- Beginners are welcome.
- School Aged Children, who follow instructions well and can work and function relatively independently in the classroom and bathroom are welcome to attend.
- Adults are not permitted to register as a student in this class unless registering and attending with the child or children. (Grab your favorite kiddo and join us!)
- For the safety of all involved, we require that Children be dropped-off and picked-up with their instructor in the classroom, and street or parking lot pickups are be permitted.
- Children may bring a snack and a drink with a lid to class.
- Registration allows for one Guest per class project.
- Only Registered Guests may attend class.
- Registrations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
- Class starts promptly on time.
- Dress to mess or bring an apron.
