The English Speaking Union presents the 2026 National Shakespeare Competition! 4 schools, with approximately 15 students in all, in our region will compete in the Sandhills Branch Competition on Sunday, February 8th at 2:00pm at The Country Club of North Carolina. Experience the talent we have in our local high schools, as they perform monologues and sonnets from the works of William Shakespeare. The winner of our competition will go on to compete in NYC in April at the National competition. This competition is especially important this year, because it coincides with the ESU Annual General Meeting, and the celebration of the 250th birthday of our nation!
