Old Scotch Graveyard Cleanup Day
November 14 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
The Moore County Historical Association has an asset that is older than the United States. That’s correct! The Old Scotch Graveyard is 251 years-old, having been established in 1775, one year before the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
However, at 251 years old, the “Old Gal” needs a little sprucing up before the holidays!
On Saturday, November 14th, from 10:00AM-4:00PM, volunteers from the Association will have a Clean-Up at the cemetery. This event is open to the public and volunteers of all ages are welcome. Volunteers need not be members of the Association. If you have hand tools (rakes, pinecone grabbers, loppers, clippers, hand carts, etc.) please bring them. If not, come anyway since tools will be available. Light refreshments and water will be available, but bring a lunch if you want to tailgate.
Directions: From NC 73 take Mount Carmel Church Road past the Bryant House to the flashing light; turn right at the light; the road to the Graveyard is about ¼ mile on your right; look for a stand of tall trees amid the shorter pines.
