“Pump It for Parkinson’s” Exercise-A-Thon and Walk-A-Thon

The Moore County Senior Enrichment Center is joining a nationwide effort to combat Parkinson’s disease with its “Pump It for Parkinson’s” event on Thursday, April 9th. Held at the center (8040 NC Highway 15-501 in West End), this community-driven event aims to contribute to a massive national goal of 50 million total steps to raise awareness for the benefits of exercise in managing Parkinson’s symptoms.
Local participants can get involved by logging steps on NuStep equipment, walking, or joining various fitness activities throughout the day. The initiative highlights the powerful role of inclusive movement and community support in improving the quality of life for those living with the disease.
For more information on how to participate or to register, interested residents can contact Chris Pevia at 910-947-4184 or via email at cpevia@moorecountync.gov.
