Shaw House Candlelight Dinner-Celebrating America 250

May 1 @ 5:15 pm - 7:30 pm
$150

The Moore County Historical Association is hosting a candlelight dinner on Friday, May 1st, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of independence. The event takes place at the Shaw House located at 110 West Morganton Road in Southern Pines. Festivities begin at 5:15PM with an open house and cider from James Creek Cider House. While the association provides cider and sparkling water, guests are encouraged to bring their own wine or spirits if they wish to enjoy alcoholic beverages during the meal.

Chef Giff Fisher has curated a gourmet menu that features a variety of high-end dishes. The meal begins with appetizers including oysters Rockefeller, candied boar bacon, and a duck or dove saute, followed by a gazpacho soup. For the main course, guests can choose between venison or Cornish hen, served alongside Carolina Gold rice and grilled local asparagus. The evening concludes with a dessert of Scottish strawberry shortcake made with fresh strawberries. Does this cover everything you needed to know about the event?

This exclusive fundraising dinner is limited to 32 guests and costs $150 per person. Reservations must be paid for by cash or check. To secure a spot, you can contact Sarah Matthews at the Shaw House between 1:00PM and 4:00PM on weekdays, call 910-692-2051, or email info@moorehistory.com.
