The Arts Council of Moore County presents the Classical Concert Series 2026-2027 season.
“The Music of Friends” During the Renaissance, chamber music served as a form of social entertainment—way before the movies or the internet. Written for small groups of musicians to perform in small palace “chambers,” chamber music is considered the most personal form of classical music. Composer & pianist Richard Walthew called chamber music “the music of friends” due to its conversational & intimate nature. For our 45th season of the Classical Concert Series, we continue this centuries-old practice by inviting you into a friendly space filled with beautiful moments of sound by the best musicians in the world. The Arts Council of Moore County welcomes the Chrysalis Chamber Players on Monday, October 19th, from 7:30PM-9:30pm at Sunrise Theater. This is the 1st of four chamber music concerts in the 2026-27 Classical Concert Series at the Sunrise Theater. The rest of the series includes soprano & pianist Chelsea Guo (11/16/26), Texas Guitar Quartet (2/22/27), and violinist Lun Li (3/22/27).
The Chrysalis Chamber Players is an ensemble committed to performing a kaleidoscope of high caliber chamber music. In collaboration with a variety of other musicians in innovative & exciting programs, they perform works ranging from Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos to the chamber music of living composers. Chrysalis musicians have performed at the Marlboro Music Festival, Banff Centre for the Arts, Verbier & Lucerne Festivals in Switzerland, & with the Louisville, Naples, & New World Symphonies. The ensemble in this concert will consist of trumpet & string quartet.
4-Concert Subscription is $120 per person (or $100 for Arts Council members).
Single ticket to one concert is $39 per person.
