Friends of Weymouth Woods is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to preserving, protecting and supporting Weymouth Woods Sandhills Nature Preserve in Southern Pines.

Working closely with park staff, the Friends help provide resources for maintaining trails and facilities, presenting educational programs, supporting conservation efforts and encouraging greater community involvement. Its members share an appreciation for the beauty and ecological importance of the preserve’s remarkable longleaf pine ecosystem.

The organization also helps bring the park to life through fun, family-friendly and educational events held throughout the year. One of its most popular traditions is the annual Trick-or-Treat Trail, which invites families to experience Halloween fun along the trails of Weymouth Woods. Other programs and special events give visitors opportunities to explore nature, learn about local plants and wildlife and connect with this treasured Moore County preserve.

Community members can support Friends of Weymouth Woods by becoming members, volunteering, donating or participating in upcoming events. Website
